Portsea – 3mm (TT) scale layout by Paul Hopkins, feature SR 3-rail electrics in the 1950s/’60s based on Portsmouth Town and Harbour stations.

Farbine Road – 4mm (OO) scale by Neil Woodbine. Small repair depot and terminus station in BR blue 1970s era – DCC.

Clarendon & Scrubbs Lane – P4 scale, built by members of the Leamington & Warwick Model Railway Society, set in west London in the early 1900s.

Eight Dollar Canyon – HO (16.5mm) scale North American layout, built by members of the Carshalton & Sutton Model Railway Club.

Waterhulme – 4mm scale ‘OO9’ narrow-gauge layout by Ian Drummond portraying the preserved ‘Ashbourne & Bakewell Railway’, with a main line interchange.

Caroline Concrete Works – 16.5mm (O) narrow-gauge layout by Graham Morfoot, based on Tallington concrete works, next to the East Coast Main Line.

Wolfe Lowe – 7mm (O) gauge by Shaun Horrocks & Stephen Moore. A small terminus located in the Staffordshire Moorlands with quarry and iron ore mine

Goodley Lane TMD – 4mm (OO) scale by Stuart Bailey. A modern image traction depot based in north-west England.

Mannin Middle – OOn3 (4mm scale, 12mm track) by Peter Cullen. Isle of Man Steam Railway in the period 1964-67.

Welby Lane – 4mm (OO) scale by Mark Pearson. Based on a BR test centre in the 1970s, with Old Dalby and Mickleover as inspiration. Lenz DCC operation.

Broom Junction – 4mm (EM) scale LMS layout set in the period before the Second World War, by Charles Stevens and the Shrewley Modellers.

Beckton – N (1:148) scale by Stephen Beck. A fictional location on the West Coast Main Line between Penrith and the Scottish border in 1990-94. DCC control.

Launceston Steam Railway – 4mm (OO9) scale narrow-gauge by Richard Holder. A scale model of the preserved railway in Cornwall, a 2ft gauge line operated by Nigel and Kay Bowman.

Burlish Road – 7mm (O) scale by Tom Clarke and the Bewdley MPD Modellers. Newly extended since its first appearance here in 2019 – BR(WR) steam.

Devonport Road – 4mm (OO) by John Anderson and the Clevedon & Portishead Armchair Modellers. Plymouth suburbs in the 1990s.

Walesby – G Scale Society (East Midlands). 30ft long club demonstration layout with DCC sound and lights.

Law Junction – 2mm (N) scale by East Neuk MRC. Model of a real location on the WCML between Carstairs and Motherwell, including the heavy freight terminal at Mossend, set in the period 2002-2006.

Alderford – 4mm (OO) scale by Carl Bowden and Preston & District MRS. WCML in north-west England in the 1980s, with overhead wires, DCC controlled.

Fencehouses NCB – 4mm (OO) scale by Ian Forsyth and the Newhaven & District MRC. Industrial steam based on NCB system in north-east England.

Raven’s Ravine – 4mm (OO9) narrow-gauge by David Wright. Dragon’s Castle and railway crossing deep ravine. This layout appeared as a static exhibit in 2019 to demonstrate David’s modelling techniques and is now fully operational.

Woodhill Goods – 7mm (O) scale by Robin Coulthard and Adrian Walby. New layout completed in 2022 depicting sugar beet traffic in the Vale of York in the steam and diesel era.

Cregwir – 4mm (OO) scale by Kenny Felstead. Terminus based on the Island of Sodor. Thomas and Friends layout with all the characters.

Waltham Wharf – 16mm scale/24mm narrow-gauge by Steve Bell. Inspired by the 18in gauge railways of the former Royal Gunpowder Factory at Waltham Abbey. Represents a typical interchange between railway and canal. All scratch-built.

Rowington for Shrewley – 4mm (OO) scale GWR pre-Grouping era by Dick hewing and the Great Western Study Group.

Bad Ischl Frachtenbahnhof – 3.5mm (HOe) narrow-gauge Austrian layout, including mixed NG/SG trackwork by Mike Christensen.

The London & North Western Railway Society; the society was formed in 1973 and in 2005 achieved charitable status as an Educational Charity with the following objective: “To advance the education of the public in all aspects of the London and North Western Railway, including the study and preservation of information, drawings, photographs, models and other material pertaining to the railway company and related organisations and subjects.” Thus, the Society aims to foster interest in all aspects of the LNWR, its constituent companies and joint lines.
